A question we received that we think would be helpful for others who may run into the same scenario:

hey Frank ! i have quick technical doubt regarding Availability.

We tried via APIs and it does not allow to edit availability for current week but it works for next week

is that a restriction or something we can do via Setup ?

would you have some insights on this

i have checked without team internally. Here is the functional doubt on the same topic.

Dayforce allows to edit Availability for next week but does not allow to edit availability for current week but from User Interface and via API.

Screenshots below. Can we make the system to allow editing current week as well ?

Current Week

Next Week

    From the dev team:

"Availability changes become effective from the start of a week. As a result, availability for the current week cannot be edited, and the earliest week that can be updated is the following week.

There is also a configuration setting called Availability Editing Blackout in Weeks which can further restrict how far in advance availability can be edited. This setting can extend the blackout period beyond the current week, but it does not allow editing of the current week's availability.

The current behaviour is working as designed.

If the customer(/requestor) requires the ability to edit availability within the current week, this will need to be reviewed as a potential enhancement request."
