Dayforce Webhooks & REST API for Real-Time AD Provisioning - Looking for Guidance
Hi Community,
We are currently designing an integration between Dayforce and Active Directory (AD) and wanted to get some clarity from the community before finalizing our approach.
We initially designed a batch-based solution using Integration Studio, however our client has raised valid concerns around reliability, error handling and monitoring. We are now exploring a more real-time, event-driven architecture and have a few questions:
- Dayforce Webhooks - Does Dayforce support outbound webhooks that fire on HR events (e.g. new hire, termination, job change) and deliver a JSON payload to an external endpoint? If yes, how reliable are these in production environments?
- External API Accessibility - Is the Dayforce REST API (e.g. GET Employees) accessible from outside Dayforce? We have heard conflicting views on this can it be called by an external middleware platform such as Azure Logic Apps or similar?
- Authentication - What authentication mechanism is supported for external API calls OAuth 2.0?
- Event Library - How rich is the Dayforce event library for HR events? Are all key lifecycle events (hire, termination, position change, leave) covered?
- Rate Limits & Reliability - Are there any known rate limits or reliability concerns with the webhook or API that we should factor into our design?
Any guidance or real-world experience from the community would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
