Could not find one of the employee properties in the configuration list page. But when try to assign to employee it shows up on the list. Why cant find it on configuration list? any restrict that need to enable in order to see all employee properties?

I notice there is id for each of the data type.

PICKLIST(0),

NUMBER(1),

STRING(2),

BOOLEAN(3),

DATE(4),

DATETIME(5);

One of the missing properties has data type = 6. Is this correct?

Hey @Sunyong Yang how do you know the employee property has a data type = 6? Can you provide a screenshot or something?

Hey @Sunyong Yang , this employee property is a user-defined GL configuration that’s managed through Payroll Setup > General Ledger > Allocations and Accruals. Since only one Allocation/Accrual configuration can be set as the default, this property allows you to assign an alternate configuration for a specific employee when needed.

Because it relies on configuration defined in the GL setup—rather than behaving like standard, customizable employee properties—it doesn’t appear in the HR Admin > Employee Properties screen. The setup requirements are different, so it isn’t administered the same way as other employee properties.

    Hi Frank,

Appreciated your response. The challenge for us is:

We are using this endpoint "Post: /V1/Employees/{employee number}/EmployeeProperties?isValidateOnly=false" to assign employee properties to test employee. For this endpoint, its request payload requires xrefcode for property and value in order to make a valid API call. And so far I dont see any available API to retrieve all employee properties that are applicable to employee. Currently, we have to find the xrefcode of those properties and value through web with this endpoint: "POST /MyDayforce/u/h7YJkAkxRUmWenE2wiYhPg/HR/EmployeePropertiesAdmin/GetEmployeePropertiesAdmin". However, if customer defines GL configuration. This property will not be listed in the "GetEmployeePropertiesAdmin" endpoint. No way we can find out the xrefcode, data type and short name for this GL property. I hope we can have a rest API support this workflow better.

    Thanks

Hi @Sunyong Yang I spoke with the Product teams that have intersecting oversight around this stuff and here is what I found out:

    • this Alternate GL Allocation / Accrual Employee Property is not supported in RESTful
      • however, the XRefCode can be found on the GL screen
    • enhancement to support this Alternate GL Allocation / Accrual Employee Property is not on roadmap and is not an immediate priority at this time
    • **Important Note** POST/MyDayforce/.../HR/EmployeePropertiesAdmin/GetEmployeePropertiesAdmin is an internal API and should not be used as changes to this endpoint can happen at anytime and is strictly built for Dayforce UI use. Which is why it isn't documented on the DDN.
