Session 2: Dayforce Studio & DPI Builder Series - DPI Fundamentals and Architecture.

This session provided a high-level overview of the data foundations behind Dayforce Payroll Interface (DPI) and how DPI supports global payroll integrations through standard Dayforce employee data, Dayforce Studio extensions, and Gold Data Dictionaries.

What we covered in Session 2

  • How DPI uses the standard Dayforce employee record as the foundation for global payroll integrations
  • Key employee data areas used in payroll integrations, including employment details, work assignments, addresses, confidential IDs, banking data, and recurring earnings and deductions
  • How Dayforce Studio extensions support country-specific and partner-specific payroll data requirements
  • The role of Gold Data Dictionaries in documenting country-specific payroll integration requirements
  • How partners can use Gold Data Dictionaries as a reference for fields, option values, extensions, confidential IDs, and implementation planning

Partners can watch the recording and review the Q&A for a deeper look at the concepts and examples discussed during the session.

Session 2 Q&A Recap

Thank you to everyone who joined our DPI Fundamental & Architecture session.  Please continue to ask your questions during the webinars or post in one of the new Group Channels within the Dayforce Developer Community:

Access to Recordings & Content

Q: Where can I find the recordings and transcripts of the sessions?
A: Session replays and Q&A are available in the Dayforce Developer Community. We’ve also created dedicated groups for:

These groups are a great place to ask questions and engage directly with our experts.

Integration & Technical Questions

Q: Is the integration map presented with a custom build or the HR Import destination map?
A: It’s a custom build, but it’s standardized across all DPI countries. Country-specific differences will mainly be handled through extensions discussed later. The HR import feeds into the employee data structure, and DPI only uses selected fields from that data rather than matching the HR import exactly.

Q: When should the Advanced Editor in Integration Studio be used?
A: The Advanced Editor is typically used by Payroll Partners to:

  • Set default values

  • Omit fields if null
This is done at the individual output field level.

Series Logistics

Q: When is the next session?
A: Sessions are held every Thursday @ 10 AM eastern, through the end of July, alternating between:

  • Dayforce Studio

  • Dayforce Payroll Interface (DPI)

Q: Is there a way to view previous Q&A if my question wasn’t answered live?
A: Yes—Q&A summaries are posted in the Dayforce Developer Community along with the recording, where you can also continue the discussion in the new Groups; Dayforce Studio and Dayforce Payroll Interface (DPI).

Feature Availability

Q: Are Employee Profile – Page Extension features available to all partners?
A: Not yet. Partners are currently signing up for the Early Adopters program for these features.

Follow-Up / Open Questions

We’re continuing to follow up on a few items and will share updates as they become available:

  • Partner access / sandbox environment availability

And we’ll take the feedback too…

We appreciate the positive feedback and engagement—glad you’re finding the sessions valuable!
