Session 3: IS: Data Filtering Webinar Replay Now Available!
Session 3: Dayforce Integration Studio Builder Series - IS: Data Filtering
We’re excited to launch the Dayforce Integration Studio Builder Series — a collaborative initiative designed to bring together internal teams and partners to better leverage the full potential of the Dayforce platform.
What this series is about
This series focuses on showcasing real-world capabilities through practical, hands-on examples. Our goal is to help teams:
- Build with confidence using proven patterns
- Drive reuse and scale through shared solutions
-
Strengthen the developer community through collaboration and knowledge sharing
Through weekly sessions, deep dives, and interactive discussions, participants will gain actionable insights into how to apply these tools in real implementations—and contribute back to a growing ecosystem of shared expertise.
What we covered in Session 3:
Integration Studio Builder Series – IS: Data Filtering
In this session of the Integration Studio Builder Series, we explored how filtering capabilities can help you control which data is included in an integration and better understand when to use each filtering approach.
In this session, we covered:
1. Filtering data before mapping
Learn how to filter records based on defined criteria before they move through the mapping process, helping you focus processing on the data you actually need.
2. Conditional Inclusion
Explore how to conditionally include an object or group of data based on whether specific criteria are true—similar to an if/else decision.
3. Choose Record
Understand how Choose Record differs from filtering and conditional inclusion when you need to select a specific record from an array.
Key takeaway
Filtering in Integration Studio is not a single capability. Filtering, Conditional Inclusion, and Choose Record address different data-selection needs. Understanding the difference between them—and the structure of your source data—helps you choose the right approach when building an integration.
We also covered how object and array parents, path ambiguity, and the location of fields within arrays can affect how filtering is configured.
Up next: Continue building on these concepts as we explore how to apply filtering and related logic in real integration scenarios.
