Session 4: Dayforce Integration Studio Builder Series - Platform Solutions Build by Experts – Use Case Lab
We’re excited to launch the Dayforce Integration Studio Builder Series — a collaborative initiative designed to bring together internal teams and partners to better leverage the full potential of the Dayforce platform.
What this series is about
This series focuses on showcasing real-world capabilities through practical, hands-on examples. Our goal is to help teams:
- Build with confidence using proven patterns
- Drive reuse and scale through shared solutions
-
Strengthen the developer community through collaboration and knowledge sharing
Through weekly sessions, deep dives, and interactive discussions, participants will gain actionable insights into how to apply these tools in real implementations—and contribute back to a growing ecosystem of shared expertise.

Thank you to everyone who joined our latest Platform Solutions Build by Experts – Use Case Lab!
In this session, we put Integration Studio concepts into practice through a real-world use case: building an outbound employee demographic integration from Dayforce to ServiceNow to support incident management.
The team walked through the initial stages of the build, including:
-
Understanding the source and destination data structures before beginning the integration
-
Using the Dayforce Bulk Employee API as the source for employee and HR data
-
Mapping Dayforce's nested data structure to the target ServiceNow structure
-
Applying filtering and Choose Record to work with arrays, nested data, and multiple records
-
Using root-level filtering to limit employee populations during testing
-
Configuring and running the integration and reviewing the resulting output
Key takeaway: Start by understanding the structure and requirements of your source and destination data. From there, determine the appropriate mapping, filtering, and record-selection logic needed to produce the desired outcome.
The build will continue incrementally throughout the Builder Series as we introduce additional Integration Studio capabilities and apply them to the connector. Our next Platform Solutions Build session is scheduled for September 24, 2026, where we'll continue the journey toward an end-to-end connector.
Thank you for your participation and great questions. We look forward to seeing you in the upcoming sessions!
