This session focused on Dayforce Studio and the calculator app capability, showing how customers can bring spreadsheet-based calculations directly into Dayforce. The team opened with a recap of Studio as a way to extend Dayforce data, create new data objects, apply custom logic, and build lightweight applications that work alongside Dayforce workflows, reporting, and integrations.
This session walked through an employee bonus calculator, where a manager or admin can select an employee, enter a proposed salary and bonus percentage, and calculate projected bonus and total compensation without exporting data to Excel. The session also covered how the app is built using APIs, JSON forms, expressions, extended subcollections, transient objects, subviews, app schema, and page publishing, while highlighting roadmap feedback around bulk calculations, reporting, and future low-code or agent-assisted build experiences.
