Build, Integrate & Extend

Originally posted by Shane Zahra on July 1, 2026 at 12:19 AM. Hi all, I am looking to build an integration using the Time away from work end point. This integration is required to be real-time or on-demand post to another system. I have noticed any real-time or on-demand integrations seem to be not possible within Integration studio. Are there any tips from this group on if these integrations are possible? The use case for the client is if an employee calls in sick (for example), the TAFW data can be posted to their scheduling system on-demand to allow for re-allocation of resources. Additionally, when creating an outbound integration and attempting to select source: TimeAwayFromWork the drop down displays no value. I have attempted other keywords such as Time & TAFW with no result. Is this intended that this endpoint is not usable as a source? (see image below)My only closest second option I can think of is: a Dayforce report > Integration > JSON API outbound > 10-minute

No error message, it just doesn't update the employee or attach the manager. I noticed that on the Manager Import spec, the Effective Start is also a required field - so we added the Effective Start Date and the ManagerXrefcode. Same results. The employee comes over with all the other fields, but the manager does not.  Does anyone know if the Manager name fields are also required when using the POST Employee call for EmployeeManagers or is there something else that needs to be included in order to get the manager attached to the employee record? Or is there further troubleshooting available for this? Thanks for your help.EddieH

If I look at the https://developers.dayforce.com/Build/API-Explorer/Employee/PATCH-Employee.aspx <link stripped through migration> there is a section on the leave of absence data : When I try to update i get the error below: HR_Employee_EmployeeDataSaveFailure context=Employee : Failed to Save Employee DataHR_EmployeeLeaveOfAbsence_EmployeeEmploymentStatusIsRequired context=EmployeeEmploymentStatus : Status - Value is requiredHR_EmployeeLeaveOfAbsence_EmploymentStatusReasonIsRequired context=EmploymentStatusReason : Reason - Value is required If I look at the body definition I do not see EmployeeEmployment

Here is the functional doubt on the same topic.    Dayforce allows to edit Availability for next week but does not allow to edit availability for current week but from User Interface and via API.  Screenshots below. Can we make the system to allow editing current week as well ?   Current Week   Next Week

They requested for PGP key to put the file in our dayforce server with .pgp extension as it is encrypted. Now I am downloading the file to test it but it shows encrypted data. How can I decrypt that file, anyone have any idea?

We have a customer who needs to import a raw punch with multiple Labor Metrics. I tried doing this, but I kept getting an error saying the Labor Metrics Type is incorrect, even though the Labor Metric Type is present. I’d appreciate any samples of a Raw Punch API import that includes Labor Metric Type. Thanks in advance!

Originally posted by Jeff Dooley on August 6, 2026 at 11:59 AM. in Integration Studio for an outbound integration when using the Benefits Carrier Feed API occasionally the scheduled integration job fatally fails with an error like: "Run Dayforce Link Export failed due to an Exception: The employee records should be 50, but thereare 49 loaded. Bad employee data found : [12345]" I realize the issue is there is a problem with the employee with id=12345 and that employee needs to be fixed. This can be done but it does cause churn as the third party recipient is expecting the outbound file on a specific day and time based on the schedule but they are not receiving it. Are there any ways to call or configure the integration or API to ignore this employee and skip them for the outbound? I could not find anything but wanted to check in case anyone is aware of a way to do so.

Is this expected behavior and IS doesn't work with transmission status like the XML exports do?

The client property for log in id algorithm is set to "FIRST.LAST", however the new hires are appearing with their DF log in ID as their employee number. I could build a boomerang integration to mirror the algorithm but wanted to check if this is expected behaviour first?Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

In the provided Get Token request, it uses a custom Key:value pair in the 'Header' instead of the usual username and password. For example, they have key 'custom_userID' for the username and another key 'custom_password' both sits in the header. The other thing is that the actual token which gets generated is also in a custom key named as 'custom_token' which also resides in the HEADER of the actual response. Tried a couple of ways to configure using the username and password in Integration studio and none of them seems to work-oauth2,token-based, basic. This works in Postman as the 'post-response' script in the Get Token request can be modified to pull the custom token in the head

Need to send hardcoded numeric value (REF02) in REF 1L segment (loop 2000) based on the plan xref for employee. I used conditional mapping and I am getting error "Invalid mapper configuration". on checking logs, IDL it looks its error is in Employee Election. Not sure if I need to provide any additional filter somewhere to remove that ambiguity and make it work. It seems simple mapping. I am attaching config, logs snapshot for reference. if anyone encountered this similar or know a solution, please let me know.Thank you

The requirement is to generate separate output files for Earnings, Deductions, Taxes, Gross Pay, and Memos after every payroll commit, but each file should include data across all 5 Pay Groups. I tested using both V1 and V2 custom reports, but the report automatically creates a PayRun parameter which I’m unable to remove. If I do not hardcode/select a value for PayRun parameter, then in Integration Studio it shows “No Data Found” in the dropdown and does not process. If I hardcode it with a specific Pay Group payroll run (for example Pay Group 100 with the latest committed payrun), then the integration only returns data for that single Pay Group, even though I configured override filter and selected all Pay Groups. Custom Report Parameter & Fi

Specifically the ability to set up an SSO link to another web site from the benefits enrollment UI in Dayforce. In the enrollment set-up there are pages where you can add whatever text you like and add standard HTML links to other web sites. It does not appear those HTML links can be set up to do an SSO authentication to another site if the 3rd party site needs SAML or JSON sent in the HTML call in order to do the authentication. I was curious if anyone is aware if this is possible or if they have tried alternate means to extend the Dayforce platform in this way.
